Why I stopped buying CDs
I stopped buying CDs.
1) I refuse to do business with a cartel that considers me a thief and felon who is guilty until proven innocent.
2) I refuse to do business with a cartel who uses their monopoly position to oppress independent artists and any attempts to distribute works of art outside of the cartel's control.
3) I refuse to do business with a cartel who uses massive bribes (excuse me, "campaign contributions") to buy laws that restrict the progress of technology, and destroy my privacy and civil liberties.
4) I refuse to do business with a cartel who bribes radio and cable stations (excuse me, "offers promotion incentives and marketing initiatives") in a pecuniary attempt to limit and direct our musical choices to their price-fixed products.
5) I refuse to do business with a cartel who has been found guilty of numerous acts of price-fixing, collusion, anti-trust violations, and even outright extortion and bribery. If they are looking for criminals with known criminal history, they need to look no further than their own mirror.
6) I refuse to do business with a cartel who is destroying the careful balance of a copyright law that provided equal benefits to both public and private interests. Their intended goal is a tight set of media oligarchs, who bleed the public with government enforcers to strong-arm anyone who threaten their Congress-granted profits.

Matrix --- Waking Life ... Vanilla Sky

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
Imagine John Lennon

I want to know how it'll end. I want to be sure of what it'll cost. I want to strangle the stars for all they promised me. I want you to call me on your drug phone. I want to keep you alive so there is always the possibility of murder later. I want to be there when you learn the cost of desire. I want you to understand that my malevolence is just a way to win. I want the name of the ruiner. I want matches in case I have to suddenly burn. I want you to know that being kind is overrated. I want to write my secret across your sky. I want to watch you lose control. I want to watch you lose. I want to know exactly what it's going to take. I want to see you insert yourself into glory. I want your touches to scar me so I'll know where you've been. I want you to watch when I go down in flames. I want a list of atrocities done in your name. I want to reach my hand into the dark and feel what reaches back. I want to remember when my nightmares were clearer. I want to be there when your hot black rage rips wide open. I want to taste my own kind. I want to be wrapped in cold wet sheets to see if it's different on this side. I want you to come on strong. I want to leave you out in the cold. I want the exact same thing but different. I want some soft drugs.. some soft, soft drugs. I want to throw you. I want you to know I know. I want to know if you read me. I want to swing with my eyes shut and see what I hit. I want to know just how much you hate me so I can predict what you'll do. I want you to know the wounds are self-inflicted. I want a controlling interest. I want to be somewhere beautiful when I die. I want to be your secret hater. I want to stop destroying you but I can't. And I want and I want and I want and I will always be hungry. And I want and I want and I want.

Estoy enamorado... Recoil (want)
Three teenagers in New York City have filed a class-action lawsuit against McDonald's Corp., saying the fast food chain's food caused them to gain as much as 200 pounds and develop serious health problems including heart disease and diabetes.
The teenagers, whose ages range between 13 and 19, say in court papers that McDonald's inaccurately posted nutritional information and deceptively advertised its products. They also say the restaurant chain used marketing practices such as toy and value meal promotions to entice its patrons to eat the food.
"We feel that the advertising strategies [of quick-service chains] target young children," said Samuel Hirsch, the attorney representing the teenagers. "Toy promotions and Happy Meals are a lethal combination."
Mr. Hirsch said his clients ate at McDonald's almost every day for at least five years. One teenager, who is 5-foot-9-inches tall, now weighs 270 pounds; another, who is 5-foot-3-inches tall, now weighs 200.
The parents of the teenagers, either unemployed or on disability, filed the lawsuit on behalf of their children. The lawsuit seeks undetermined compensatory damages.
McDonald's officials yesterday the lawsuit and others like it make "no sense."
"This is nothing more than a frivolous lawsuit," company spokesman Walt Riker said in a written statement. "Its claims are ridiculous. Common sense tells you that it makes no sense. McDonald's serves quality food. Our menu features choice and variety with lots of options for consumers.
"Meanwhile, McDonald's will continue to do what we've been doing for 30 years: providing industry-leading nutrition information to customers about our menu offerings so that they can make informed choices," the statement reads.
McDonald's announced last week it would introduce a new cooking oil that has lower levels of trans-fatty acids, which have been linked to raising "bad" cholesterol levels.
The latest lawsuit, filed in the New York Supreme Court, comes a month after a New York City man, who has been eating fast food since the 1950s, sued the country's four leading fast-food chains, also blaming the restaurants' fatty fare for his health problems.
In July, Caesar Barber, 56, filed a suit — also with the Supreme Court of New York — against McDonald's, Burger King Corp., KFC Corp. and Wendy's International, blaming the chains for making him and others overweight and raising his risk of illness related to being overweight. Mr. Barber also is being represented by Mr. Hirsch.
In his case, Mr. Barber, a 5-foot-10-inch, 272-pound maintenance worker, said he had heart attacks in 1996 and 1999, and has diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
So far, the two cases are based on studies documenting obesity and related illnesses. The latest lawsuit charges that McDonald's franchises are negligently selling products "that are high in fat, salt, sugar and cholesterol content which numerous studies have shown cause obesity, diabetes, coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes, elevated cholesterol intake, related cancers, and/or other detrimental and adverse health effects and/or diseases."
The lawsuit drew criticism from consumer groups and plaudits from medical groups, which said yesterday such cases alert people about the health risks of consuming fast food.
"We advocate for people to take control over their diets, but these lawsuits keep fast food in the news and point to the real issues that fast food can cause," said Brie Turner-McGrievy, a clinical research coordinator with the Washington-based Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a nonprofit organization that promotes preventive medicine.
Others disagree.
"The Caesar Barber case was clearly a legal belly flop in the eyes of the public," said Mike Burita, a spokesman for the Center for Consumer Freedom in Washington.
"The trial lawyers are back at the drawing board, now using kids as their new pawns to try to get their multimillion-dollar payday in court. This has everything to do with fattening attorney wallets and nothing to do with slimming down Americans."

(violent banging on the door)
Frank (loud alarmed voice): Johnny, Johnny! Open up
Frank: Johnny, it's Frank! Open up
Frank: Look you've been in there for three weeks
Frank: Now come on, open up
(Door rams open)
Frank: Johnny, Johnny!
Johnny (slighlty drunk voice): Out of my way, I'm watching television
Frank: Are you crazy? That's the test pattern!
Johnny: I like it!
(later at the Mental Institution)
"Doctor": Well, there are two things to be done
"Doctor": First of all, we put him in the hospital
"Doctor": And withdraw all television,
Frank: I see
"Doctor": And then, we give him this... Radio
Frank: Radio?!?!?!?!?

The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain,
And the itsy bitsy spider went up the drain again.
Spider by David Cronenberg...
Uma historia com potencial imenso, e cuja tagline resume brilhantemente "The only thing worse than losing your mind... is finding it again"
